To support the CSR activities of local companies, the Hungarian Business Responsibility founded its special awards, called CSR Hungary. This year, Egis was awarded in the ‘Inner CSR Solutions’ category that comes with a two-year trademark right.

The quality of life of millions depends on the availability of our medicines, as Egis sells the most boxes of medicine in Hungary. Hungarian doctors most often choose Egis medicines particularly for the therapy of cardiovascular diseases, which is a common disease. Our medicines provide therapeutic solutions for the diseases cardiovascular diseases (38%), for the illnesses of the central nervous system (17%) and respiratory system (10%), further 10% are cancer treatment and immunotherapeutic drugs. Taking these medicines continuously is essential for maintaining the patients’ quality of life and for the success of the therapy.

Hungarian-based Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Mundipharma network for a pegfilgrastim biosimilar. Pursuant to the agreement, Egis gains the exclusive distribution rights related to the medicine used to reduce a common side effect of cancer treatment called neutropenia and the related life-threatening infections. Thus, Egis gets the opportunity to launch this pegfilgrastim biosimilar product in four Eastern European countries.
Egis attended the event with a fork lift truck simulator that playfully presented the firm’s therapeutic areas.
Microsoft and HR Fest — the largest HR professional festival in Hungary — established a new professional award category within HR Best awards called ‘Future Proof Organizations’.
Egis and our consortia partners have won 2,332 billion HUF direct grant in the framework of the innovation tender GINOP-2.2.1-15-2016-00023 for the realisation of the above-mentioned project.
Egis has developed a new procedure for the dehalogenation of technological wastewaters. In 2018, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary recognized the innovation with the Gran Prize Interdisciplinary Innovative award.
It is important for us to protect the future of our planet, therefore we try to reduce our ecological footprint. Egis uses more and more electric cars in its fleet in order to minimize the harmful substance output.
This year, our company officially became a bird-friendly workplace.
Close to 300 Egis employees give blood on a regular basis at our Budapest sites. For our contribution, we received a certificate of merit from the Hungarian Red Cross.

According to our mission, we serve people with all of our skills, so that they can live a long and healthy life. That is why we chose to support the comprehensive nationwide screening program as a Golden Sponsor in 2019. The state-of-the-art screening truck will tour around the country until Christmas, stopping by 200 spots to offer screenings in 37 different areas.
In close cooperation with our employees, we're currently working on redesigning our protective clothing. Though the project is still in progress, our collaboration was already acknowledged: we were awarded the Healthy Workplaces Good Practice Award, so we can move on to the next round organized for EU countries.

A Hungarian wildlife photographer, Bence Máté intends to shake up the public in order to protect nature. His spectacular nature photo exhibition series - organized in Budapest, then at the main square of another seven provincial towns – was opened by János Áder on 13 March. The outstanding project was supported by Egis.
